Ananya ate breakfast on her own at her table overlooking the backyard.

While I’m moving the carseat into my car, Ananya decides she wants to sit in the carseat on the driveway
Our original plan was to go get the car washed, but the car wash was mobbed so we went to Texas Art Supply instead.
Ananya cruised the aisles
Ananya cruised more aisles, stopping every so often to sample the bristles on a paintbrush and the like.
As we’re leaving Texas Art Supply, Ananya poses for a photograph in front of one of the murals on the building. We left the store with lots of goodies, including origami paper, modeling clay, finger paints and some pipe cleaner.
We went home, Ananya got changed and we loaded up in the car, this time with Shonali too, and headed to a puja and then a birthday party after that. Here’s Ananya sitting in her car seat, munching on an aloo parantha.

Some shopping at the Galleria after the party.
We finally made it the car wash!
I’ve been to Bubbles Car Wash a couple of times now, but today was the first time I noticed how much they have their act together. Before I had even pulled up to the attendant, he had run my plates in his computer, seen my purchase history, seen that I always bought the cheapest car wash they have and had already made a tag up for my usual car wash when he approached me. Of course, this didn’t stop him from trying to upsell me on a wax.
Ananya enjoyed watching the cars getting washed. I also discovered the whole store you sit in while you wait is a trap for children. She must have picked up ten things that she wanted us to buy her!
Finally, at Ananya’s suggestion (I kid you not… though it did take a moment for us to figure out that she was saying ‘smoothie’) we picked up some Smoothie King. Good old Angel Food without the turbinado (aka brown sugar) — a big one for me and a little one for Ananya.
