There's a proper performance space that's planned for phase 2, but in the meanwhile, the 18,000 square foot building has a room (or rooms) that could house a small performance.

I've mostly been to talks there. Political people or religious people (actually saw your Dad at one of these last week). My friend runs the medical clinic and they see a bunch of patients mostly for free every week. They offer free yoga classes three times a week. Senior citizens have regular events there. They haven't been very visible (IMO) but it's a really great building and has quite a bit of good programming already. If you have ideas for other stuff lmk, I'm on the board and interested new ideas from outsiders.

Eventually, I think Google TV will be inside the TV provider's box and not just controlling it via IR blasters. Part of the problem with this conversation is that the so-called HTPC market is small and it means different things to different people. For some, the plug-ins and access to online TV shows is what's important. For others, it's PC DVR and the associated features (sync to mobile devices, stream to other TVs in the house, etc). And then for others, it's all of the above -- or, put another way, anything you *can* do on a PC but can't do on a traditional set-top box. I think the Google TV box will definitely be a strong contender for the first and third definitions. I'm not so sure it'll do DVR anytime soon. I could see them doing this once they get inside those provider boxes.

Not to be to contradicting, but the point of the HTPC in my opinion is to combine ALL the boxes under the TV into one box! This doesn't even scratch the surface... all it is another box under the tv! I have 3 components and it's so much easier! TV, Audio Receiver, and an HTPC (w/ bluray and webcam for Skype). Also, in a pinch, I can open a browser and use the Air Mouse on my iPhone to control the mouse and keyboard. All in all, sounds like an updated version of Apple TV with a browser!

I have a Roku box and I think they should just create an app to share the media from my HTPC with the ability to play my dvd library and we'd have a heck of a product. All in all, good article but I don't think that Google TV is going to shake up the market for HTPCs anytime soon. Although they should develop a version similar to Boxee for HTPCs and I'd surely download

I gave up on ebay due to the PITA listing process and sketchy participants. Now I ship my gadgets off to http://www.gazelle.com - Gazelle takes their cut, of course, but it's super efficient.
